Tulane Cross Country Releases 2026 Schedule

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's and women's cross country programs are gearing up for the 2026 slate of action, which has been announced by director of cross country/track & field Adrian Myers, who enters his sixth season at the helm. The Green Wave's campaigns will begin in New Orleans on September 4 with the season running through the NCAA National Championships on November 21. The Tulane women's team is looking to defend its American Conference title while the Tulane men's squad is aiming to defend its NCAA South Central Regional championship.
The schedule features five regular season meets before the conference championship. Tulane hosts twice this year, both the annual Battle for New Orleans and the American Conference Championships.
On Friday, September 4, the season officially gets underway as the Wave cohosts the Battle for New Orleans with the newly rebranded LSU New Orleans. The meet takes place at Lake Oaks Park. Tulane will then participate in the 48th Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational in Chicago, Illinois. The meet is hosted by Loyola Chicago on Friday, September 25.
October kicks off with the Nicholls XC Invitational on October 3 in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The meet is hosted by the namesake Colonels. The regular season concludes with the programs splitting for the final two meets. First, the Wave men travel to Madison, Wisconsin, for the Nuttycomb Invitational on Friday, October 9. The event is hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The regular season closes with the Tulane women traveling to College Station, Texas, on October 16. They will compete in the Arturo Barrios Invitational hosted by Texas A&M.
The American Conference Cross Country Championships will return to New Orleans for the first time since 2018 as Tulane hosts the conference meet at Lake Oaks Park on Saturday, October 31. The Green Wave will aim for further success, as the women are the defending conference champions and have claimed two of the last three titles. The Tulane men were runners-up last season after claiming the conference crown just two years ago.
NCAA action begins from there, starting with the NCAA South Central Regional in College Station, Texas, on November 13. The season then wraps up with the NCAA National Championships on November 21 in Terre Haute, Indiana. The Tulane men claimed the South Central Regional title last season in historic fashion, as the Wave became the first school since 2005 other than Texas, Arkansas, or Texas A&M to win the meet.
Three all-conference honorees return for the women's team, highlighted by last year's American runner-up Blezzin Kimutai. Haley Harper also returns alongside American All-Freshman Team honoree Petra Dos Santos. The Tulane men had five all-conference honorees, highlighted by returners Bernard Cheruiyot and Silas Kiptanui. Cheruiyot also claimed All-America honors at the national meet. The Tulane coaching staff of Adrian Myers and David Silversmith were named American Women's Coaching Staff of the Year, marking the third consecutive season they have earned the award on either the women's or men's sides. Following the men's team winning the South Central Regional, Myers was tabbed as the Johnny Morriss Award recipient as the region's coach of the year.
In just under a month, the Green Wave takes to the course with their eyes set on further championship gold.
