Solomon Earns American Conference Setter of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane volleyball sophomore Charlee Solomon has been named the American Conference Setter of the Week, the league announced Monday. Fellow Green Wave sophomore Lauryn Mack also garnered weekly honorable mention honors from the conference.
Solomon picked up the recognition following her stellar performance at the UNF Invitational leading the Wave to a 3-0 record in the tournament over the weekend. She tallied 115 assists, 32 digs, nine kills, six service aces, and five total blocks in the tournament. Solomon finished the weekend with an impressive average of 10.45 assists and 2.91 digs per set.
The Papillion, Nebraska, native opened the UNF Invitational by logging 37 assists and nine digs in a sweep of Duke. She followed that performance with a double-double posting 45 assists and 14 digs in a five-set victory over Florida International. Solomon closed the tournament by recording 33 assists, nine digs, and four aces in a sweep over North Florida.
Meanwhile, Mack earned weekly honorable mention recognition after finishing the tournament with a .276 hitting percentage and averaging 3.27 kills and 3.86 points per set in the undefeated weekend for Tulane. She totaled a team-high 36 kills while adding 31 digs and nine total blocks across the three matches.
The sophomore outside hitter tallied 10 kills, eight digs, and two total blocks in the sweep of Duke to open the weekend. In Tulane's five-set win over FIU she recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 15 digs while also matching her career-high with five total blocks. Mack rounded out her week with 12 kills, eight digs, and two more total blocks in the Green Wave's sweep over North Florida.
Tulane returns to action this weekend at the South Alabama Invitational in Mobile, Alabama, from September 11-13. The Wave will play three matches in the tournament facing Georgia, Kennesaw State, and South Alabama.
