2001: Played in 10 games with a pair of starts. Missed the Louisville (11/3) and Navy (11/10) games due to injury. Second on the team in rushing attempts and yardage with 32 carries for 101 yards. Top performance came against TCU (10/13) with two receptions for 60 yards, including a 39-yard touchdown catch and run. Carried a season-high nine times for 33 yards against East Carolina (9/8). Tallied a pair of rushing TD[apos]s, a three-yard plunge against BYU (8/25) and a one-yard effort against Cincinnati (10/6). Also a contributor on special teams and one of the top blocking backs for the Wave.
2000: Played in 10 of 11 games, including a pair of starts at fullback, as a true freshman. Carried the ball 14 times for 35 yards. Scored his first career touchdown against Southern Miss (10/14) on a one-yard run -- the first rushing TD against Southern Miss in 36 quarters. Had career-bests of 11 carries and 27 yards (including a seven-yard burst) in the Southern Miss contest. Also tallied his first career catch with a 14-yard reception against the Golden Eagles.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2000 graduate of Archbishop Shaw, where he lettered in basketball as well as football. A two-year starter who earned all-state honors as a senior. Totaled 800 yards rushing with 14 TDs. Caught 27 passes for 350 yards as a senior to earn offensive MVP honors. A first team all-district kick returner. Served as team captain. Listed by Super Prep magazine as the top fullback in Louisiana. Played for Coach Hank Tierney. Chose Tulane over USC and Notre Dame.
