2004-05: Played in one doubles match during the spring campaign, a loss against Southern. Played in five fall singles matches as a freshman. Picked up his first collegiate victory with a win at the Ragin[apos] Cajun Classic.
Prep: A native of San José, Costa Rica, attended Country Day School in Florida, graduating in June of 2004. Ranked No. 1 in his country in his age group in singles. Became the first Costa Rican to win an ITF tournament on native soil (Copa Cariari doubles, June 2003). Reached the quarterfinals of five ITF Tournaments throughout the Caribbean. Achieved a 906 junior ranking in singles and a 288 ranking in doubles.
Personal: Born September 11, 1985 in San José, Costa Rica. The son of Kim Barton and Catherine Kayser. Father played football at the University of Toronto. Intends to major in finance or economics.
