HIGH SCHOOL: A 1998 graduate of Newellton High School in Newellton, La., where he was a three-year starter for Coach Bo Barton. Played both tight end and defensive end and was named all-district on both sides of the ball. Had 10 sacks and seven receptions as a senior. Helped lead his team to a 21-5 record in his final two years, and a trip to the Class 1A semifinals as a junior. Also led the basketball team in scoring.
