Liz Devlin Ziegler is in her 31st academic year at Tulane University in 2023. Devlin Ziegler serves as the department's Chief of Staff and also serves as a Special Assistant to the Ben Weiner Director of Athletics Chair, Troy Dannen.
Devlin Ziegler joined Tulane Athletics in 1989 working in the Green Wave Club under Terry Terrebonne as a student assistant. Devlin Ziegler spent 26 years working with Tulane football department starting with her first full-time position in 1992. In her time she helped support eight head coaches and their staffs. She then became the Special Assistant to the Athletic Director in July of 2018. Since 2018, Devlin Ziegler has played a significant role in streamlining the department's human resource efforts while playing a key role on Dannen's executive cabinet.
As Chief of Staff, Devlin Ziegler continues to support all day-to-day operations of the athletics department including human resources, direction of the Directors of Sports Operations and Athletics Department Administrative Assistant in the day-to-day functions of the administration.
Devlin Ziegler has two sons (Dane and Slade). Her son Dane graduated the Tulane A.B. Freeman School of Business and is now pursuing his master’s while working as a Tulane Football Defensive Graduate Assistant. Son, Slade is a recent graduate of Samford University and is currently a graduate transfer walk-on at Southeastern in Hammond.
She is the daughter of John Sterling Devlin and Irma Kleemann Devlin. Her father was a football coach by trade and among his many stops included a stint here at Tulane. She is the proud sister of three brothers, John S. Devlin, III (Attorney), William H. Devlin (OPSO Captain-Retired) and Michael R. Devlin (Baltimore Ravens Coach).
Devlin Ziegler earned her degree from Tulane University College in 1994.
