Second team 5A all-state selection by the Texas Sportswriters Association. All-Red River Valley honoree in 2000 and 2001. First team all-district as a wide receiver and as an outside linebacker in 2001. Caught 49 passes for 965 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2001, setting school records for catches and receiving yards. In his final two seasons, totaled 72 catches for 1,481 yards for a 20.6-yard average with 14 TDs. Led the Panthers in scoring those two seasons. Made 53 tackles and intercepted three passes at outside linebacker his senior year. Led the Red River Valley in receiving both years. As a junior, grabbed 23 passes for 504 yards and three scores. Second team all-district his junior season at receiver. Also played outside linebacker on defense and made 53 tackles and two INTs. Named an All-American Scholar in 2001 by the United States Achievement Academy. Joined older brother Billy Don in signing with the Green Wave. Named to Who[apos]s Who Among American High School Students. Member of the National Honor Society and the Beta Club.
