High School: Three-year letterman at Los Gatos High where he played running back and linebacker for coach Butch Cattolico...helped lead the Wildcats to a combined 25-10-2 overall record and three trips to the state playoffs, including an 11-1-1 season as a junior when the team won the CCS Division II Championship...earned first-team all-league honors as a senior after running 41 times for 176 yards (4.3 avg.) and four touchdowns while hauling in five passes for 40 yards (8.0 avg.) and a score on offense in addition to posting 66 tackles (29 solo, 37 assists) on defense...as a junior, tabbed second-team all-conference and named team MVP after logging 80 tackles (45 solo, 35 assists), 6.0 sacks, three fumble recoveries, a forced fumble defensively, running 26 times for 286 yards (11.0 avg.) and four touchdowns on offense, and returning four kickoffs for 36 yards on special teams...as a sophomore, had 28 tackles (12 solo, 16 assists) while running four times for 23 yards and a score...off the field, was a Freshman Skills Day leader.
