Dr. Cornell Sneed was elevated to assistant athletics director for student-athlete enhancement in July 2018. He joined the staff as the senior academic counselor for men’s basketball in October 2016.
Sneed oversees the Devlin S-AFE Center for Leadership Development Student-Athlete Enhancement Program, which provides personal, professional and leadership development to all Tulane student-athletes, and coordinates the department's community service endeavors. Sneed also provides academic counseling, career counseling, and mentorship to the men’s basketball team through the Fogelman Life Preparation Program. Before Tulane, Sneed worked at the University of Memphis as the life skills coordinator and academic counselor and at East Tennessee State University as a graduate assistant and assistant academic advisor.
A native of Miami, Florida, Sneed os a former honors Division I track & field scholarship student-athlete at ETSU. At ETSU, Sneed earned his bachelor of science in criminology in 2012, a master of arts in sport management in 2013, and his doctorate in education in global sport leadership in 2018. Sneed also earned a master of science in academic advising from Kansas State University in 2015.
