Abby McKanna joined Tulane Athletics as a senior academic advisor in June of 2022. She advises both the Men’s Basketball team and Sailing team.

Before arriving to Tulane, McKanna was an intern academic advisor at Florida State for the Men’s Basketball team and Softball team. She previously worked as a graduate assistant in academic services at Providence College while also interning with the student-athlete development staff. McKanna earned her Master of Education in Higher Education with a Certificate in Sports Administration from Providence College in 2021 and her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Assumption College in 2019.

Originally from Narragansett, Rhode Island, McKanna played Division II Basketball for 4 years at Assumption College, in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she was a captain for the 2018-19 season.
