Nicknamed 'T' and 'Arty.' Plays right-handed with a two-hand backhand. Possesses quick reflexes and solid returns. A nationally ranked junior at the age of 14.

Fall 2001: Posted a 1-5 mark in the fall season, earning his only win with a three-set comeback win over Lamar[apos]s Thatcher Cribbs at the UL-Lafayette Invitational on Oct. 6. Also teamed with Brad Cinalli for a 1-1 doubles mark.

Spring 2001: Did not see any action in the spring season.

Fall 2000: Posted a 2-3 record in singles action in the fall. He and Goran Vasiljevic teamed up for a 1-2 record in doubles play.

Prep: Lettered in tennis for three years at University School of Nashville. Did not play tennis his senior year due to injury. Advanced to the state quarterfinals twice and helped his team to the sub-state championships as a sophomore. Named team Most Valuable Player twice. Also lettered in soccer in high school. Named Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association.

Personal: Born March 15, 1980 in Tokyo, Japan. The son of Toshinari and Eniko Ishii. Plans to major in economics.
