Women's Tennis Team Improves to 4-0

FORT WORTH, Texas - No. 75 Tulane claimed wins in five of six singles matches to take a 6-3 win over No. 40 TCU, Saturday.
Anna Monhartova clinched the win for Tulane, capturing a 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles over TCU's Lucie Dvorakova. Tulane's Jessica Kessler earned a straight-sets win over Daria Zoldakova with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at No. 2 singles. Joyce Bergman gave Tulane a sweep of the top three spots with her 1-6, 6-0, 7-6 win over TCU's Leoni Weirich at No. 3 singles.
Anneli Axsater was a 6-0, 6-2 winner over TCU's Rachel Niwa at No. 5, while Tulane's Molly Rollauer was a 6-1, 7-6 winner over Stacey Sabala at the No. 6 position. Jennie Ligator dropped Tulane's only singles match, falling 3-6, 4-6 to TCU's Jessika Kjellgren at the No. 4 position.
In double play, Axsater and Rollauer teamed to give Tulane an 8-6 win over the Horned Frog duo of Weirich and Kjellgren at the No. 3 spot. Bergman and Ligator dropped a hard-fought decision in the No. 1 doubles position, coming in on the short end of a 9-7 scoreline against TCU's Natalie Balafoutis and Niwa. Monhartova and Kessler fell 4-8 to TCU's Zoldakova and Dvorakova in the No. 2 double match.
Tulane returns to action on Sunday, as the Green Wave take on Texas-Arlington in Arlington.
