NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Tulane volleyball team (5-5, 0-2 C-USA) couldn't overcome a strong South Florida (5-6, 1-1 C-USA) attack and dropped a 3-1 decision to the Bulls in Fogelman Arena Friday evening.
Tulane stepped up and took the first game of the match 15-10 before falling 15-11, 15-12 and 16-14 in the final three games.
Senior Lacey Vicknair put down a career high 17 kills and hit .275 for the match, as she led the Wave in its attack. Vicknair recorded a career high in blocks with six. With 11 kills and 15 digs, junior Kim Sentmore recorded the Wave's only double-double of the contest. Sophomore Erin Dobyanski served a match high four aces, with nine kills, nine digs and three blocks.
Four South Florida, Rachelle Paul stunned the Wave with a match high 22 kills and six blocks. Lori Gribben recorded 16 kills along with 16 digs.
The Green Wave hosts C-USA rival Houston on Sunday at 2 p.m., while USF travels to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on Southern Miss.
