
Tulane Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision To Houston

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane volleyball team (5-6, 0-3) dropped its third straight Conference USA match of the season to Houston (7-5, 3-0), 3-0, on Sunday afternoon.
Houston held the Wave to a .143 hitting percentage, as they controlled the match and cruised to a 15-12, 15-7, 17-15, win over Tulane, to preserve their undefeated status in C-USA.
Freshman Lindsey Bennett led the Wave's attack, as she hit .364 for the match with 10 kills. Bennett also recorded seven digs and two blocks. Junior Kim Sentmore totaled 15 kills and 10 digs, while sophomore Marie Schenebeck had a season high nine kills and two blocks. Lacey Vicknair led Tulane defensively with a total of four blocks.
Houston's Jillian King led the Cougars with 16 kills, four service aces and five block assists. Teammate Jennifer Wittenburg had 13 kills and six digs.
Next up for the Wave is the annual "Fill Fogelman" contest. This year Tulane plays cross-town rival New Orleans at 7 p.m. on Sept. 28th, in Fogelman Arena.
