
Tulane Volleyball Sweeps Charlotte, 3-0

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Kim Sentmore's 21 kills coupled with a strong Green Wave defense pushed the Tulane (11-8, 4-4 C-USA) volleyball team past Conference USA rival Charlotte (8-12, 2-6 C-USA) on Friday evening. The game scores were 15-8, 15-13 and 15-9.
The Green Wave took game three and the match as they overcame a 9-2 49er lead, scoring 13 unanswered points en route to the sweep. As a team, TU out hit Charlotte .290 to .154 and out dug the 49ers 62 to 34.
Three Green Wave players recorded double digits in kills while four posted 10 or more digs in the match. Sentmore recorded a match high in kills with 21 and digs with 18. Senmtore hit .405 hitting percentage. Ashley Reese posted her first double-double performance of the season with 10 kills and 11 digs. The 10 kills marks a season high for Reese. Britney Hurst had a season best total in kills with 12. Karlyn Daly had 11 digs while Jennifer Witte recorded 10.
Leading Charlotte was Esra Akgun with 13 kills. Jessica Kelly had a team high eight digs.
Tulane Takes on Saint Louis, Saturday, Oct. 14 at 7:00 p.m. in Fogelman Arena.
