Tulane Baseball Falls To Southeastern Louisiana, 5-1

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Each team recorded eight hits but the Tulane (24-13-1) offense could not produce runs as Southeastern Louisiana (18-23) went on to defeat the Green Wave 5-1 on Wednesday evening.
Green Wave senior Mickey McKee scored the only run for Tulane as he hit his third home run of the season, a solo shot over the centerfield wall. On the evening, McKee was 3-for-4.
Despite pitching his second complete game of the season, Tulane's Barth Melius (3-3) got the loss. Melius gave up eight hits, five runs and struck out six.
For Southeastern, Chad Landry was 2-for-4 with a pair of runs and RBI. He also hit back-to-back home runs for the Loins.
Steve Trosclair (1-0) got his first win of the season as he pitched 5 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out four. Kelly Love recorded his second save of the year.
Tulane travels to Birmingham, Ala., for a three game weekend series with Conference USA rival UAB. Friday and Saturday's game begins at 7:05 p.m., while Sunday's is scheduled for 1:05 p.m.
