GREENSBORO, NC – Tulane's baseball team was selected for the American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award for the ninth straight season the organization recently announced. The award recognizes ABCA members from all levels of high school and collegiate baseball that achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year.
This is the ninth straight year that Tulane has earned the ABCA Team Academic Excellence. Tulane is one of only 11 schools that has been named in each of the last nine seasons.
This year, more than 440 college programs and 300 high school programs were recognized for their outstanding academic achievement.

- Must be a high school or college team
- Head Coach Must be a current ABCA member
- Team must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale for the 2024-25 academic year.
The American Baseball Coaches Association had a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. Tulane went 33-25 in 2025 plus reached the AAC Championship Game for the third straight season. The program had five All-AAC selections on the year in pitcher Michael Lombardi (First Team), second baseman Connor Rasmussen (First Team), designated hitter Gavin Schulz (Second Team), outfielder Jason Wachs (All-Freshman Team) and outfielder Tanner Chun (All-Freshman Team). The program also had three chosen for the AAC's All-Tournament Team in Schulz, Tayler Montiel and Theo Bryant IV.
