LAFAYETTE, La. - The Tulane women's tennis team won its fourth straight match in the last eight days, defeating Louisiana-Lafayette, 8-1. The match was held Sunday afternoon on the UL-Lafayette campus.
Tulane (12-6) juggled its singles lineup, playing Jessica Kessler at the no. 2 position and Anneli Axsater at the no. 3 spot. Kessler and Axsater have played in the no. 4 and no. 5 positions, respectively, as of late. The rotation of players showed little effect, as Tulane won the singles 5-1. This improved the Green Wave's singles mark over its last four matches to 21-3.
Doubles play was swept by the Wave, 3-0. The team of Julie Morris and Olga Mikhailova defeated the Ragin' Cajun's team of Michelle Muaud and Amandine Hubert, 8-3, at the No.1 doubles spot.
The Green Wave's four match winning streak will be challenged in its next match. The team will travel to Baton Rouge to play 30th-ranked LSU, Wednesday at 2 p.m.
