Victor Romero Stopped at Region III Championships

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tulane University junior Victor Romero (Atizapan, Mexico) was stopped in his bid to reach the quarterfinals of the Omni Hotels Region III Men's Tennis Championships at the University of Tennessee on Saturday morning.
Romero was defeated by Mississippi State's Romain Ambert, 7-6, 6-3, in the round of 16. Ambert is ranked No. 17 in the nation, while Romero is the No. 55 ranked player in the country.
Fifteen Omni Hotels Regional Championships for Division I are currently taking place to help determine the field for this year's Omni Hotels National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships. The Indoor Championships will take place Nov. 8-11, hosted by SMU at the Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas.
