Wave Has Two Indoor Track All-Americans

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Two members of the Tulane University track teams earned All-America honors at the 2001 NCAA Indoor Track Championships at the University of Arkansas on Saturday.
Sophomore Marie Ahlander (Stockholm, Sweden) earned her All-America accolades after finishing sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 42-08.75 feet (13.02m). She was joined by sophomore Nadja Petersen (Stockholm, Sweden), who placed seventh in the 400-meter dash in a time of 53.65. Petersen already holds the school record for the 400 in indoor track action, with a best time of 53.26.
Tulane's women's 4x400 relay team finished 10th at the championships with a time of 3:38.13. The Green Wave relay squad is made up of Petersen, seniors Angela Milner (Modesto, Calif.) and Nikelola Balogun (Los Angeles, Calif.) and junior Asha James (Pickering, Ontario).
On the men's side, freshman Carl White (Opelousas, La.) placed 16th in the triple jump with a jump of 48-03.50 feet (14.72m).
