GAINESVILLE, Fla. - Junior Clement Abai and senior Solomon Kandie led Tulane University to a strong finish at the Gator Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Gainesville.
Abai (Port Moresby, New Guinea) posted the top time of the day in the 800 meters at 1:51.61, to take first place. Also for the Green Wave men, Kandie (Nairobi, Kenya) placed second in the mile-run with a time of 4:03.61, an NCAA Proviosional qualifying time.
Sophmore Eva Lustigova (Libereca. Czech Republic), the Newcomer of the Year in Louisiana Cross Country for last season, posted a second place finish in the 800 with a time of 2:09.65. Senior Katrina Gemmell (Palmerston North, New Zealand) posted a second-place finish in the one-mile run with a time of 4:47.94.
The Wave returns to action Friday at the LSU Twilight Invitational.
