LEXINGTON, Ky. - Tulane's Mattias Westerberg (Lulea, Sweden) earned a third-place finish at the Charles Fluitt Invitational at the University of Kentucky's Hilary J. Boone Varsity Tennis Complex. The Green Wave senior won three of four matches at the tournament.

The 17th-ranked Kogan, meanwhile, was bested by the nation's number one player in a hard-fought three-set match as Kentucky's Jesse Witten defeated him 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
Kogan, who is ranked No. 17 in the nation, defeated Mississippi's 67th-ranked Catalin Gard, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6. Romero, No. 39 in the country, had a three-set triumph as well, edging Louisville's 53rd-ranked Cody Conley, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2.
The "Ranked" Flight was made up of players currently ranked in the top 100 in the ITA rankings plus players who have been ranked sometime in their career. Each player played five matches against others in the flight. The A and B Flights are brackets. Players who lost, dropped to consolation brackets.
