Volleyball Match At Southern Cancelled

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Wednesday's volleyball match between Tulane University and Southern University has been cancelled and will not be made up during the 2003 season.
The Green Wave defeated the Lady Jags in straight games (30-7, 30-11, 30-10) last Tuesday night in Fogelman Arena, and with the cancellation of Wednesday's contest, Tulane completes the year undefeated against in-state opponents. With a 7-0 record against Louisiana schools - 3-2 over Nicholls State (8/29), 3-1 over LSU (9/5), 3-0 vs. UL-Lafayette (9/9), 3-0 over Louisiana Tech (9/20), 3-0 over Southern and a pair 3-0 decisions over UNO (9/6 and /14) - the Green Wave went undefeated against in-state foes for the first time since 1979.
Tulane returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 8 when the Green Wave travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to take on Conference USA foe Southern Miss at 7:00 p.m. in the Payne Center. Following the contest with the Golden Eagles, Tulane closes out the regular season on Nov. 14-15 with road contests at Saint Louis and Memphis, respectively, before returning to The Crescent City where the Green Wave will host the C-USA Tournament from Nov. 21-24.
