Tulane Advances to Semifinals at Blue-Gray Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Tulane University won its third straight match with a 4-2 victory over William & Mary to advance to the semifinals of the Blue-Gray Men's Tennis Classic on Friday afternoon.
The Green Wave, ranked No. 27 in the country, will play Tulsa tomorrow afternoon in the semifinals. The Golden Hurricane upset Notre Dame and North Carolina in Friday action to reach the semifinals.
Tulane earned the doubles point against 52nd-ranked William & Mary as Michael Kogan and Victor Romero teamed up for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles and Dmitriy Koch and Goran Vasiljevic had an 8-3 victory at No. 2.
In singles action, Kogan, ranked No. 15 in the country, cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory at top flight singles. Koch also had a victory, winning 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3, while Hannu Piiroinen clinched the victory with a 6-2, 6-4 triumph at No. 6 singles.
