
Men's Tennis Wins 19th Straight Home Match

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University cruised to a 6-1 victory over Florida Atlantic University in men's tennis action on Sunday afternoon at Goldring Tennis Stadium. The win was the 19th straight home victory for the Green Wave, which improves to 12-5 this season.
After earning the doubles point, Tulane won five singles matches in straight sets. The lone loss came at No. 6 singles.
Michael Kogan, Victor Romero, Dmitriy Koch and Jorge Lievano all had wins in singles and doubles. Kogan, ranked No. 15 in the nation, won his No. 1 singles match, 7-6, 6-1 over Kevin Obletz and teamed with Romero for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Romero won his No. 2 singles match by a 6-2, 6-4 score, while Koch notched a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 3. Piiroinen won 7-5, 6-2 and Lievano was a 6-2, 6-3 winner.
Tulane will be back in action next Saturday, hosting No. 61 Middle Tennessee State at 10:30 a.m. at Goldring Stadium.
