Men's Tennis Defeats Arkansas-Little Rock

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Tulane University posted its eighth straight home victory as it rolled to a 5-2 win over Arkansas-Little Rock in men's tennis action on Sunday afternoon at the Goldring Tennis Center.
Tulane (12-4) held a 3-2 advantage when senior Michael Kogan clinched the victory with a three-set win at No. 1 singles. Kogan had a 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 win over Little Rock's Bastian Faisst.
The Green Wave clinched the doubles point to open the match, and then Jacobo Hernandez opened singles action with a straight-set win at No. 5. However, the Wave had a pair of losses sandwich Alberto Sottocorno's win at No. 6 and the score was 3-2 when Kogan closed out his opponent.
Junior Dmitriy Koch improved his team-best record to 11-2 with a 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles to close the day's action.
Tulane will close its 2004 regular-season home schedule on Wednesday, hosting rival LSU at the Goldring Tennis Center. The team will honors its three seniors prior to the match.
