AUSTIN, Texas - The NCAA Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships were suspended due to torrential downpours at in the Austin, Texas, area. The modified schedule is not available at this time.
Tulane's lone competitor in the event, junior Jelena Jurlina had been scheduled to throw the javelin and the discus in preliminary round action on Wednesday. However, she only threw the javelin prior to the suspension of activities. Due to the fact that only a partial group of the javelin throwers completed their rounds, no official results have been posted. Full results will be available only at the completion of the event.
The discus preliminaries are expected to be held on Thursday as well.
Final rounds for both events are still scheduled for Friday, however, weather could still be a factor.
