Let's Talk Tulane Basketball on January 5th

NEW ORLEANS, La. - With the Tulane basketball teams finally back in New Orleans, fans will have the opportunity to meet both the men's and women's coaching staffs at the Ray Hester Booster Club's Annual "Let's Talk Tulane Basketball" Event on Thursday, Jan. 5 at the Boudreaux Room on the premises of Boomtown Casino at 4132 Peters Road in Harvey, La. (on the West Bank).
The cost of the event is $15 per person and includes drinks and appetizers. One hundred percent of the gross proceeds will de donated to the Tulane Rebuilding Fund. For advance ticket sales or other information, contact Barb Borries at 504-392-6816.
While Dave Dickerson is beginning his first season at the helm of the Green Wave men and Lisa Stockton is in her 13th season guiding the Tulane women, both have experienced some of the most difficult challenges of any coaches in the country as they have battled the repercussions of Hurricane Katrina which displaced the entire Tulane Athletic Department. The Wave men spent the fall semester at Texas A&M while the women were at Texas Tech.
Both teams made triumphant returns to New Orleans, however, with the women defeating Central Connecticut on Dec. 18th and the men topping Richmond on Dec. 27th.
The Tulane men meet crosstown rival UNO for the second time this season this Saturday, Dec. 31st at the Alario Center (Click here for directions) on the West Bank. Tip-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. and tickets are available by calling 504-280-GAME.
The Wave women defeated Toledo in a thrilling overtime contest on Thursday evening at Fogelman and will be back in action on Jan. 2nd, hosting Miami (Ohio) at Fogelman Arena at 7 p.m.
