NEW ORLEANS – Tulane men's basketball defeated Spring Hill College 108-97 in its lone exhibition game on Wednesday night inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
Five players finished the night in double figures for the Green Wave while nine total players found the scoring column against the Badgers. Junior Krystian Lewis led the offense for the Wave tying for a game-high 27 points to four rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Tyler Ringgold was one of two players to record a double-double for Tulane as he tallied 22 points and 13 boards as well as three assists. The other double-double for the Green Wave came courtesy of Ryan Blount with 14 points and 10 rebounds to go with two assists, two steals, and a block.
Rounding out the players in double digits for Tulane were Joah Chappelle and TJ Nadeau. Chappelle posted 13 points, six boards, and two steals while Nadeau filled the stat sheet with 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, three blocks, and two steals.
As a team the Wave connected at a 41.9 percent clip from the field, including a 53.3 percent clip in the second half. Tulane controlled the paint against the Badgers winning the rebounding battle 50-33 and outscoring Spring Hill 52-18 around the rim. The Green Wave also tallied 29 second chance points on 22 offensive boards and 19 points off 17 Badger turnovers.
Up next, Tulane will open the regular season with its home opener on Monday, November 2, against UT Martin. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+.
