Tulane Hosts UT Martin for Season-Opener Monday Night

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball will open the 2026-27 campaign against UT Martin on Monday night, November 2, inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave enters the matchup against the Skyhawks with a 7-0 record in season-openers under head coach Ron Hunter.

The game between the Wave and the Skyhawks is set to tipoff at 7 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.7 The Ticket with the Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.

This marks the second all-time regular season meeting between Tulane and UT Martin with the Green Wave holding a 1-0 advantage over the Skyhawks. In the only previous matchup between the two programs the Wave defeated UT Martin 87-74 in Uptown on December 5, 2018.

The Wave holds a 3-1 record overall including a 3-0 mark at home against the current teams in the Ohio Valley Conference. The last time Tulane faced a team from the OVC was the victory in Uptown over UT Martin in 2018. Coach Hunter is 31-6 in his career against the current teams in the OVC.

In its last time out, Tulane defeated Spring Hill College 108-97 in its lone exhibition game leading into the 2026-27 campaign on October 28 in New Orleans. Five players scored in double figures for the Green Wave with Krystian Lewis leading the team with 27 points. Tyler Ringgold and Ryan Blount each posted a double-double in the win as Ringgold finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds while Blount added 14 points and 10 boards. Joah Chappelle and TJ Nadeau rounded out the leading scorers for Tulane with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

UT Martin enters the 26-27 season with 13 new players after finishing with a 22-11 record last year. The Skyhawks were picked to finish third in the OVC under third-year head coach Jeremy Shulman.

Following the matchup against UT Martin, the Green Wave will welcome Jackson State to Uptown on Thursday, November 5. The battle between Tulane and the Tigers is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
