Men's Tennis Stopped by Georgia Tech

TEMPE, Ariz. - Tulane University had its nine-match men's tennis win streak snapped on Thursday afternoon, losing to No. 58 Georgia Tech, 4-1, at the Whiteman Tennis Center.
Tulane, which is ranked No. 18 in the nation, drops to 15-4 with the loss, which was played in Arizona as part of its spring break trip.
The lone win for the Green Wave came at No. 5 singles as sophomore Alberto Sottocorno posted a 6-3, 6-4 victory over George Gvelesiani.
The Green Wave dropped the doubles point after losing at both No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Georgia Tech took a 2-0 lead with a straight-set win at No. 6 singles, then Yellow Jacket wins at No. 2 and No. 3 wrapped up the victory.
The match was stopped as soon as it was clinched.
Tulane returns to action on Sunday, playing at No. 44 SMU at noon in Dallas. The Wave returns home to the Goldring Tennis Center for an April 2 match against Middle Tennessee State.
