NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's cross country team came in second at the LSU Tiger Festival, led by top 10 finishes from Aubrey Phillips, Julia Whitrock and Rebecca Coady. The Green Wave men came in ninth, led by Kevin Lynch, Saturday at Highland Road Park in Baton Rouge.

Senior Aubrey Phillips came in sixth place in the women's 6K run with a time of 22:35, while redshirt freshman Julia Whitrock placed eighth at 22:42. Rebecca Coady was just five seconds behind in ninth place, while freshman Johanna Gretschel turned in a 23:27 time to place 14th overall.

Jessica Dallager (25:43, 35th place) and Caitlin Hornbeck (26:09.7, 38th) rounded out the entries for the Green Wave, who accumulated 61 points to finish second among the nine teams, behind only Houston.

Stephanie Aldea of Houston won the women's race with a time of 21:21.

On the men's side, Tulane placed ninth, led by freshman Kevin Lynch's 28:57 time in 43rd. Right behind him, one second back was sophomore Kyle Esteves in 44th, while freshman Mike Mainguy (29:12) placed 47th. Rounding out the Green Wave runners were freshmen Sean Meisler (29:43, 50th), Max Miller (29:58, 51st) and Brian Lozes (29:59, 52nd).

The Green Wave placed eighth of 11 men's teams in the 8K race, which was won by LSU. Kalphys Kemboi of Southeastern Louisiana won the men's race in 24:32.2 1.

Tulane will be back in action next week at the Auburn Invitational on Saturday, October 4.
