The Tulane Baseball team received a national ranking of No. 34 in Collegiate Baseball newspaper's Fabulous 40 pre-season NCAA Division I baseball poll. The Green Wave, which finished 39-22-1 in the 2008 campaign, will be boasting ten seniors on this year's squad. Seth Henry finished 2008 with a .319 batting average that included seven homeruns and 54 RBI. Also part of the offensive attack will be fellow senior Jared Dyer, who handles the duties behind the dish. Dyer concluded play in 2008 hitting .303 while also picking up 12 doubles on the season.
The Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll is the oldest college baseball poll. Its birth took place during the 1957 college baseball season.
