
Minor Finishes Second in Heptathlon at LSU Outdoor

BATON ROUGE - Tulane junior Arielle Minor placed second in the heptathlon while teammate Kelly Curtis came in sixth Friday at the LSU Outdoor at B. Moore Track in Baton Rouge. Minor was the top collegian in the event and set a new personal best for heptathlon points with 4544.
Minor posted personal bests in the long jump with a distance of 5.23 meters and shattered her previous best with a 33.02 meter toss in the javelin, placing fourth in that portion.
Curtis, a freshman, was second in the javelin portion at 34.36 meters and set a personal best in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:51.
Julie Pickler won the event for Team Asics as the former Washington State standout totaled 5555 points.
Tulane's full squad will be in action Saturday at the LSU Alumni Gold.
