Green Wave take Four Events at Cole-Lancon Twilight

LAFAYETTE, La. - Rebecca Coady won the 3000-meter steeple chase with an NCAA regional qualifying time of 10:49, as the Tulane track & field teams racked up impressive finishes at the Cole-Lancon Twilight in Lafayette, La.
Katarina Busljeta won the hammer throw, with a school-record 54.24m, which was an NCAA regional qualifying mark. She also finish third in the discus, with another regional qualifying mark, at 47.95.
Olivia Kizzee won the 100-meter dash, turning in a 11.98 time, while teammate Kasey Rodgers placed third in 12.27. Kizzee also won the 200-meter dash, with a time of 24.08. Rodgers finished fifth in the 200 in 25.06.
Ana Ruzevic posted another NCAA regional qualifying mark in the javelin, placing second with a toss of 43.62m.
Brian Lozes was the runner up in the men's 1500 meter run, with a time of 4:15, just 1.14 seconds back of Lousiana Tech's Josh Slocum. In the women's 400-meter dash Shaina Pelham also finished second, posting a time of 56.73.
In the men's pole vault, Ian Batherson turned in a height of 4.15, placing third. Tulane also received a third-place finish from Jared Firestone, as his 11.14 in the men's 100 meter dash put him on the podium. Garrett Myer placed eighth in 11.98, while Andrew Chan came in 10th in 12.65.
Firestone followed that up with a fourth place finish in the 200, posting a time of 22.42, while teammate Koplan Nwabuoku placed ninth in 22.88. Nwabuoku also placed 12th in the men's 400-meter dash in 51.11.
Myer turned in a 5.71 distance in the long jump, good for sixth place while Greg Clayman added a 5.62 to place seventh.
Jordon Holtzman paced the Green Wave in the men's 800, turning in a time of 2:00 for a fourth-place finish, while teammate Kevin Mitchell came in ninth in 2:14.
In the 1500 meter run, Tulane finished second through sixth, as Keriann Langley finished as runner up in 4:57, while Johanna Gretschel (5:12), Peggy Keplinger (5:16), Caitlin Hornbeck (5:27) and Elizabeth Piazza (5:32) were right behind.
Arielle Minor and Kelly Curtis finished back-to-back in the women's 100-meter dash, as Minor's 15.99 was good enough for sixth place, and Curtis placed seventh in 16.24.
In the women's long jump, Raquelle Collins placed seventh with a mark of 5.25, while Brree Carter finished eighth with a distance of 5.15.
Max Weber placed eighth in the men's discus, with a throw of 38.58 meters, while in the javelin, Craig Kolwicz placed ninth with a throw of 49.97, while Jonathan Kirby placed 10th with a toss of 47.16 meters.
Tulane is back in action at Ole Miss on May 2.
