Kizzee Advances to 100, 200 Finals at NCAA Regionals

LOUISVILLE - Tulane's Olivia Kizzee advanced to the finals of both the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Mideast Regional Championships Friday.
Kizzee posted a time of 11.48 in heat two of the 100, third in the heat and the fifth-best mark in the event to move on to Saturday's finals. In the 200, she was the runner up in heat four, but her time of 23.55 was fifth as she moved on. The 200-meter finals will be Saturday at 6 p.m., giving Kizzee less than an hour between events.
Senior Katarina Busljeta placed 18th in the discus with a distance of 45.60 meters. She also turned in a 46.02 mark in the hammer throw, finishing 26th.
Sophomore Zandria DeBowles finished 23rd in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.73.
In Saturday's action, Rebecca Coady will run the 3000-meter steeplechase and Ana Ruzevic competes in the javelin.
