Overall thoughts on the match
"This is one of the finest examples of a very fine collegiate match. You always want to put your team in these types of situations to really show them what the SEC is like and when there are a lot of fans out there heckling you. Obviously, we are a little upset that we came out on the wrong side of a 4-3 decision but the girls played with so much heart today. They battled from the first point to the last and that's all any coach could ask for. I think we had some chances in doubles to take the doubles point, and we definitely had some chances in singles to turn around a couple of those matches. But that comes with being young. LSU has a lot of seniority and experience. We'll just chalk this one up to another learning experience and move forward."
On if it's disappointing to lose a close match one day after breaking into the national rankings
"I told the girls that we're not going to worry about the rankings. That's just a number. On top of that, when teams find out that you are ranked and they're not, it's like you have a big target on your back. Now you have something to prove. We're not going to worry about that. We're still celebrating the fact that we are in the national rankings. That was one of our goals and we met it this year. It's a disappointing loss, but you can't ask anything more from your team as long as they battle and play with 100 percent heart, and that's what they did."
On if there was any particular thing that went wrong for the team today
"We didn't execute well in doubles. We blew a couple of games with 40-0 leads. The momentum shifted and that took the doubles point from us. It's happened to us a couple of times. It happened to us against Rice. When you're playing teams of this caliber, you can't let those opportunities to slip through your fingers and that's what we did today."
On the short turnaround and playing Purdue tomorrow
"We're excited to play Purdue. I set the schedule up where it would be a very demanding and very physical schedule. That's what we wanted. This is for the future. If I don't put them in these situations when they're young, they won't know how to appreciate it or to handle them when they're older. We're thrilled to play Purdue tomorrow. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain. We'll just come back out to the court and look for another win."
