TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Tulane's men's tennis team travels to the University of Alabama this weekend for the Crimson Tide Invitational, the final tournament of the fall, beginning Friday at the Alabama Tennis Stadium and the Alabama Rec Courts.
All 10 members of the Green Wave squad will compete in the tournament that will feature players from 20 schools with seven singles draws and two doubles draws.
"We've been consistently making good progress towards our goals this fall and we want to finish on a high note at the Alabama Invitational," Tulane head coach Mark Booras said. "There are going to be 20 school represented so it will be a nice variety for us and we won't be seeing the same people we see all spring. It is a great opportunity for us to play against some good competition at a very high level."
Joining Tulane in the field are players from Alabama, Ball State, Boston College, Chattanooga, Davidson, Furman, Kentucky, Louisville, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, N.C. State, Samford, South Alabama, Southern Miss, Tennessee, Tennessee Tech, UAB, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
The Green Wave is led by junior Idan Mark. Mark, the 50th-ranked player in the nation by the ITA, is 6-4 in singles play this fall, including a pair of wins at last week's ITA Southern Regional. Adam Bernstein, Takuma Ohashi, Rodrigo Rappaccioli, Iain Sneddon and Shaye Wali each have four singles victories this fall.
Mark has paired with Joe Young to post a 4-2 doubles record this fall as well to lead the Green Wave.
After this weekend Tulane will be off until the spring season begins on Jan. 20 with a dual match against Texas Tech in Lubbock.
