Mark Falls at ITA after Receving Second Life

TULSA, Okla. - Tulane men's tennis junior Idan Mark's received a second life at the 2011 ITA All-American Tournament on Thursday afternoon and was placed into the Main Draw Consolation Singles Bracket by virtue of a player default, but fell to Ohio State's Devin McCarthy in the opening match at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
Mark, ranked 50th in the nation in singles by the ITA, fell 6-2, 6-3, to McCarthy, the 32nd ranked player. Chaudry advanced to the second round of the consolation bracket and will face Michigan's Evan King on Friday.
"This was a great experience for Idan and a great honor for Tulane to be back in the All-American Tournament," third-year head coach Mark Booras said. "Idan got to play against four of the top 100 players in the country and came away with a few wins. This will go a long way in helping him grow and prepare of the rest of the fall and ultimately for the spring season."
Tulane and Mark will return to the courts on Oct. 21 at the ITA Regional Championships in Auburn, Ala.
