NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane baseball team had their Tuesday evening contest with New Orleans cancelled due to heavy rains and lightning in the New Orleans area. The two teams will attempt to reschedule the contest at a later time.
The Green Wave will host Florida International on Wednesday, March 30 at 6:30 at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, with Tulane looking to bounce back after losing their series finale at Southern Miss on Sunday (March 27). The Olive and Blue sit at 18-6 overall on the season, while the Panthers enter with a 15-11 mark in 2011.
Drew Zizinia, who was scheduled to start Tuesday night, will move back a day and start versus FIU. Zizinia will enter the contest with a 1-0 mark to go along with his 2.61 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 20.2 innings on the mound. Kyle Fitzpatrick will start for FIU, entering the game with a 2-1 record and a 2.36 ERA in 26.2 innings of work.
Tulane and New Orleans will attempt to find a date to reschedule the cancelled contest and those details will be made available once a common date is reached.
