Volleyball Announces Promotional Schedule

NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane volleyball team will open their 2011 season this weekend at the Tiger Invitational and, with the season getting under way, the Green Wave would like to announce their promotional schedule for the 2011 home volleyball season.
In just one week, the Green Wave will open their home slate by hosting the Allstate Sugar Bowl Collegiate Classic on September 2 and 3. A cross promotion with the football home opener on the September 3rd will award $1.00 admission to the Saturday evening contest versus Southern Illinois at 7:30pm to any fan that presents their ticket stub from that day's football game at the ticket window.
The Kathy Trosclair Memorial will come to Fogelman Arena just two weeks later and the marketing staff will be holding t-shirt raffles during both of the Green Wave evening matches on September 16 and 17. The t-shirt raffles will take place on Friday versus Belmont and Saturday against South Alabama, with both matches starting at 7:00. During Tulane's 10:00 a.m. match versus Lamar on Saturday, the concession stands will feature $1.00 hot dogs for all fans in attendance.
Tulane will kick off their Conference USA season on Friday, September 30 versus UAB and continue that homestand on Sunday, October 2 with a match against Memphis. On Friday, the first 250 students through the door will receive a free Tulane volleyball t-shirt courtesy of Green Wave athletics. The Residence Hall Attendance Challenge will take place on Sunday and the residence hall with the most students in attendance will receive a grand prize for their hall.
Teenagers will take over Fogelman Arena on Friday, October 14 when Tulane host "Middle School Night" during their match versus Marshall at 7:00. After the Green Wave take on the Thundering Herd, they will be offering a free Kids Clinic and be signing autographs for everyone in attendance. All fans of 100-percent cotton t-shirts should attend the Olive and Blue's match versus East Carolina on Sunday, October 16 for another t-shirt raffle during their match with the Pirates.
The annual "Dig Pink" match will roll into the Crescent City when Tulane hosts Southern Miss on Wednesday, October 19th at 7:00pm. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match and the Green Wave will be accepting donations in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The All Fall Sports Day will take place on Sunday, October 23rd when the Green Wave host the UTEP at 1:00pm. This will be a chance for all of the fall athletic squads to come out to Fogelman Arena to cheer on their counterparts and give the fans a chance to mingle with their favorite Green Wave athletes before and after the match.
The team will close out their regular season with four home contests in the month of November and each one of them will feature something for the fans. On Saturday, November 5 the department will sponsor a canned food drive and Saturday, November 6 will act as "Military Appreciation Day". It will be Club Sports Day on Friday, November 18 against Houston and Tulane will honor their lone senior - Nikki Osuna - prior to their match on Sunday, November 20 when they oppose Rice in the final home match of 2011.
Season tickets for the 2011 volleyball season are currently available through the Tulane Ticket office and are just $55 for the entire 16-game home schedule. Single game tickets are being sold, as well, and can be purchased by contacting the Tulane Ticket Office at 504-861-WAVE or visiting the Tulane Team Shop inside the James Wilson, Jr. Center between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
