Coach Momic's Quotes Following Friday's Loss At UCF

Overall thoughts on the match
"It was a match where both teams went on big runs. When we were able to get them out of system and dig well, we were able to stop them. Overall, we were fighting the best that we could, but UCF started passing better and they have enough big hitters to put a lot of pressure on us. We didn't have an answer. There were too many rotations where we got stuck on huge runs of points. That's something we're going to have to figure out. We fought hard and the effort was there. We just didn't come out as winners in the end."
On if having a such a young lineup has hurt the team in matches like this
"Obviously, you lose a point for every single error, and there were a lot of errors where we're losing points by just mishandling the ball, not knowing how to play it better or things that might come easier to more experienced players. Right now, we're getting ourselves in trouble rather than benefiting from something like this. That is something that we'll keep working on daily. We have to just let the time pass and all of that will come with experience. Considering we have four freshmen that are starters, we are aware of those things. We also understand that this is the best line-up that we have, we have to go out with it and we realize that in time they will understand. The players are working hard. They're smart. Little by little, I think they're figuring it out."
On the short turnaround before playing at USF on Sunday
"It's another tough opponent. We just have to learn from this. We can't take it in a negative way. That's the nature of any sport. We have to forget about the loss, learn from it and prepare for the next one."
