
Indoor Track & Field Kicks Off at BSC Panther Icebreaker

NEW ORLEANS – On the eve of the indoor track and field season opener, the women of Tulane's indoor squad are gearing up for the first of four trips to Birmingham, Alabama this year. The 2016-17 season kicks off on Friday, Dec. 2 at the BSC Panther Icebreaker hosted by Birmingham Southern College. Action at the Birmingham CrossPlex begins at 9:00 a.m.

THE MEET
Friday will mark the sixth consecutive season the Green Wave have opened up at the Birmingham CrossPlex. At the meet, Tulane will face competition from a plethora of regional opponents in Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Georgia State, Jackson State, Samford and UAB, while also matching up with in-state foe Nicholls State. Field events are slated to begin at 9:00 a.m., while the running events will start at 9:30 a.m.
At last year's BSC Panther Icebreaker, Tulane claimed four individual titles, also clinching three second-place finishes and over a dozen personal bests. As a freshman, Jessica Ducket would also break a school record in her Tulane debut in the 60m hurdles.
UP NEXT
The Green Wave take the next four weekends off for winter break, reconvening for the LSU Purple Tiger on Friday, Jan. 6 in Baton Rouge.
