NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's tennis team might be on the road to Memphis in preparation for the American Athletic Conference Championships, but that did not stop head coach Terri Sisk from steering the program forward with the addition of two Class of 2016 signees Julieta Dalmau (Coral Gables, Florida) and Isabelle Entenza (Bromma Sweden).
"We are extremely excited about Isabelle and Julieta joining our Tulane family," Tulane head coach Terri Sisk stated. "They both represent what I look for in student-athletes as they appreciate the experience to play at such an incredible school as Tulane and they want to win to help us grow our program. It's definitely been a fun process getting to know these two girls and I get fired up just knowing what they will bring to our team, on and off the court."
Dalmau attends Gulliver Prep where she has achieved a 94-6 record and became the only girls player in school history to win three state finals. The 5'7" Florida native accomplished undefeated seasons in 2012, 2013 and 2014, and was named an All-Dade County selection the past five years. Dalmau is ranked 92nd in the country and 13th in the state of Florida according to TennisRecruiting.net.
"I first saw Julieta last summer at National Clays in Memphis," Sisk explained. "I was blown away with her. Her attitude on the court and her will to win was quite obvious along with her incredible talent. I know Julieta will come in and make an impact right away."
Entenza played on the Swedish National Tennis team from the age of 12 until the age of 16, representing her home country in the European and Nordic Championships. Entenza was also selected by the Stockholm Tennis Federation at the age of 12, where she plays for Stockholm Lawn Tennis Club (SALK) in the highest division. All-in-all, Entenza led her team to two Swedish Team Cup titles and three runner-up finishes over her career. Most recently, Entenza won the Stockholm Regional Championships in singles along with the Balstaspelen singles title.
"Isabelle is a workhorse," Sisk said. "She is well coached in Sweden and I am excited to bring her talents here. She is a great ball striker and moves really well on the court so she will come in and give us depth for sure."
