NEW ORLEANS - Tulane's golf team opens play at the NCAA Bryan Regional on Thursday, May 5 at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. The three-day event covers Thursday-Saturday, May 5-7 and admission to each of the three rounds is free.
The Green Wave will play with golfers from Louisville and Miami (FL) for the opening round and the groups will start from the 10th tee at 8 a.m.
The teams competing at the Bryan Regional includes UCLA, Georgia, Arizona, Kent State, Furman, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, Louisville, Miami (FL), Tulane, Campbell, Indiana, Texas State, Delaware,
The 18-team field will compete on a Jack Nicklaus-designed par 72 course that plays between 6,242 and 6,373 yards for the regional, varying on the day's set-up.
The top six teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, May 20-25, at Eugene Golf Club in Eugene, Ore.
"We have a very experienced group of players that are used to competing in big events at this level," Tulane head coach Lorne Don said. "We just need to stay focused and execute as a team for three rounds and give ourselves a chance to finish among the top six teams and return to the national championships."
The Green Wave are making their 13th NCAA Regional appearance, including their eighth straight since the program was re-launched in 2008-09, and has advanced to the NCAA Championships six times, including 2005, 2009, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015.
Tulane's line-up will feature seniors Silvia Garces, Madison Opfer and Emily Penttila, each of whom is playing in their fourth NCAA Regional, along with junior Belen Goicoechea and freshman Laura Munoz.
