
Tulane Finishes Seventh at American Conference Championship

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. – Tulane women's golf closed out its 2025-26 campaign with a seventh place finish out of 11 teams at the 2026 American Conference Championship on Wednesday. The Green Wave carded a three-round team total of 896 (+32) to post its best finish in the conference championship since also placing seventh in 2023.

As a team the Wave finished third in the championship with 169 total pars through 54-holes while also totaling 25 birdies. Sophia Chen and Francesca Pompa led the team and ranked fifth overall with 37 pars across three rounds. Meanwhile, Gabriella Gilrowski paced Tulane with seven birdies which ranked tied for 15th in the field.

Chen led the way on the leaderboard for the Green Wave as she finished tied for 16th overall with a three-round score of 222 (+6 – 76, 72, 74). Along with sharing the team lead in pars in the tournament she tied for second on the team and 26th in the field with six birdies.

The next player in the standings through 54 holes for Tulane was Pompa who ended the championship tied for 26th overall with a total score of 225 (+9 – 73, 75, 77). She was tied for fourth in the tournament on par 4s averaging 4.07 strokes and totaled four birdies across three rounds.

Sophia Macias closed out her freshman campaign with the Wave by landing tied for 33rd overall with a final score of 227 (+11 – 76, 69, 82). She recorded the low round of the tournament for Tulane on Tuesday as she shot a 69 (-3) in the second round. Macias finished third on the team with five total birdies and was tied for ninth in the field on par 3s averaging 3.00 strokes.

Following Macias on the leaderboard was Gilrowski with a three-round score of 229 (+13 – 77, 78, 74) to finish tied for 38th in the tournament. To go along with leading the Green Wave with seven birdies she also paced the team on par 5s shooting three under par on those holes averaging 4.75 strokes which tied for ninth in the championship.

Rounding out the group for the Wave was Cristina Albertazzi with a 54-hole score of 232 (+16 – 79, 78, 75) which put her in 45th overall at the tournament. She closed the championship with her best round in the third and final round as she hit all three of her birdies on the final day of competition.
