Blocker, McMillan Compete in 400 Meter Dash at U.S. Olympic Trials

McMillan (54.05) and Blocker (54.54) finish 25th and 27th overall
EUGENE, Ore. – Two Tulane track and field sprinters in Lilla McMillan and Jasmine Blocker ended their quest for a shot to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Team in the 400 meter trials on Friday evening at Hayward Track during the U.S. Olympic Trials.
McMillan placed 25th overall with a time of 54.05, while Blocker was right behind her teammate at 54.54, placing 27th. Neither will advance to the next round in the event.
The last time Tulane had a former athlete compete at the U.S. Olympic Trials was in June 2008 when All-American and eventual Nigerian Olympian Gloria Asumnu ran in the 100 meter dash.
Blocker's season comes to an end after earning First Team All-American honors by the USTFCCCA in the 400 meter dash and winning the silver medal in the event at The American Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
McMillan has one more shot to become an Olympian, as the native of Mill Valley, California, will compete in the 200 meter dash at the U.S. Olympic Trials on July 8.
