Eric Wagner Earns ITA Scholar-Athlete Status

Earns first major collegiate award
TEMPE, Ariz. – On Thursday, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its 2016 Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete awards, as more than 4,200 tennis players were recognized across all divisions. Representing Tulane men's tennis on the prestigious Scholar-Athlete list was freshman Eric Wagner.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters.
Wagner posted a 3.829 cumulative GPA by the end of his freshman season. The award marks Wagner's first major collegiate honor.
