
McMillan Wraps Up Collegiate Career at U.S. Olympic Trials

McMillan ran a 23.90 in the 200 meters on Friday
EUGENE, Ore. – Tulane track and field sprinter Lilla McMillan's collegiate career came to a close on Friday, as the senior competed in the 200 meter dash at the U.S. Olympic Trials at Hayward Field.
 
McMillan finished sixth in her heat and 37th overall in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.90.
 
"Lilla has been a great champion sprinter for our program over the last four years, and I'm very proud of all of her accomplishments," stated Tulane track and field director Eric Peterson. "Here at the end of her collegiate career, I'm very proud of the fact she was able to qualify for the U.S. Olympic Trials in two events."
 
McMillan competed at the trials last week, posting a time of 54.05 in the 400 meter dash for a 25th-place finish. She was joined on the track by fellow Tulane sprinter Jasmine Blocker, who was two spots behind her at 54.54.
 
McMillan captured the gold medal in the 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash races at The American Outdoor Track and Field Championships with times of 23.00 and 51.38, respectively. Her 400 meter dash time set a new school record. Additionally, she was on the 4 x 400 meter relay team that captured gold at the meet, finishing at 3:36.07. For her efforts during the conference championships, McMillan was named The Female Track Athlete of the Meet.
