Women’s Tennis Foursome Readies for Samford Round Robin

NEW ORLEANS – For the third straight week, Tulane women's tennis head coach Terri Sisk will deploy members of her squad to compete in a weekend tournament, this time heading to Birmingham, Alabama, for the Samford Round Robin Tournament. Representing the Green Wave this weekend will be junior Naz Karagoz, sophomore Sofia Kurtz, freshman Christina Sisti, and making her 2016 fall debut, sophomore Elena Muller.

Overall, the tournament consists of six singles flights, consisting of four competitors each, and three doubles flights, with four pairings in each as well. Other schools joining Tulane and Samford in Birmingham are Memphis, Southern Miss and UAB. Play will begin with doubles at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and at 9 a.m. on Sunday.

Karagoz (Flight 1), Muller (Flight 2), Sisti (Flight 3) and Kurtz (Flight 4) can all be found in the first four singles flights. In doubles, Green Wave fans will see a spring dual season reunion of Karagoz and Muller in Flight 1, while Sisti and Kurtz pair together for the second straight week in Flight 2. Last weekend at the Rice Fall Invite, Kurtz and Sisti posted a 2-1 doubles record, while the latter earned a 2-1 mark in singles as well.
